Step up and get involved! And reap a tremendous amount of gratification and knowledge by doing so.
The RMDMA is seeking a handful of committed volunteers to step forward as potential board members and committee volunteers for the 2012-13 program year, which begins in eight short months. It’s a great way to meet people and to hone your leadership skills. But more than that, you’ll break away from the day-to-day rigors of your 9-to-5 job and see new ways to look at the world of marketing and profit-making.
The commitment amounts to a couple hours a week, on average, when you will contribute to the state of professionalism in the local marketing field; you will help identify and promote “best practices” in direct marketing, and help educate the next generation of DM specialists.
Board functions are managed by its Executive Committee, comprised of five officers, chaired by the Board President. Each of these officers are available to provide more intensive advice and support to the organization and its executive director:
Executive VP – serves as President Elect, assisting the president in all roles.
VP of Records – board secretary and document archivist
VP of Finance – supervises revenue management and payment of obligations
VP of Membership – secures commitments for new and renewing RMDMA members
There also is an immediate need for a Program Chair, to research and schedule luncheon and educational speakers. In addition, opportunities for a wide variety of volunteers functions are available the current program year.
