Trash or Treasure:
What are your list acquisition tactics getting you?
Michelle Pelletier, senior director-professional services, Return Path
Tom Sather, director-professional services, Return Path

Growing a large and active list is the goal of every email marketer and

sender. But themethods you employ to grow your lists each carry their own risks and can make or break the deliverability and response rates of your email program.

Collecting and maintaining an accurate subscriber database is a critical first step in consistently reaching your subscribers and leads.

Michelle Pelletier and Tom Sather of Return Path are the featured presenters for the morning seminar of RMDMA’s first regular session of the 2010-11 program year, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Pepsi Center.

In this session, the two Return Path executives will review specific list-growth strategies, discuss how to determine what to measure, and review how different methods may affect results. Topics will include list acquisition and growth techniques, consent levels, address capture considerations, new data quarantine and monitoring, and ongoing auditing.

What you will learn:

  • How to integrate email with social media and traditional direct marketing.
  • How to drive customer retention through the crafting of valuable email messages.
  • New ways to target those messages to an expandable list of key audience members.

Founded in 1999, Return Path helps commercial email senders get more email delivered to the inbox. The company’s tools and services give senders the insight and resources to diagnose and prevent email deliverability and rendering failures by improving and maintaining their email sending reputations.

LUNCHEON PRESENTATION 12:00PM - 1:30PM

Helping to build marketing solutions — one click at a time!
How Hallmark linked nearly 4,000 stores through successful online solutions
Carlos Corredor, program leader, Hallmark Cards Inc.

When Hallmark recognized a unique opportunity to support its independent Gold Crown
partners, the Kansas City-based card giant created an online presence that was both
relevant and compelling.

More importantly, though, its cyber-gurus created content and offers that drove corporate
strategy and yielded tremendous impact on retail results.

On Wednesday, September 1, one of those cyber-superstars will walk you through the
development of a robust program that is profitable and sustainable – that places an integrated suite of marketing solutions at your fingertips through an online tool box – and guarantees success by creating a strong support system.

Carlos E. Corredor, program leader in Retailer Customized Marketing program for Hallmark Cards Inc., will be the featured speaker at the kickoff luncheon for the 2010-11 RMDMA program year. Corredor will share the successes and challenges in the development of the solution. He will approach problems and solutions involved with corporate policy to maintain brand integrity, while addressing the critical need for user engagement and training.

What you will learn:

  • How to define the need for local-store marketing ... what needs to be considered?
  • Managing internal paradigms: How far can you push your brand? What is the role of user engagement?
  • The current landscape of Retailer Customized Marketing programs: What marketing solutions are available to retailers? What unique need does each solution fulfill?

Corredor will offer a demonstration of the RCM tool – a tool that can offer a turnkey 1-to-1 marketing solution in as few as four easy steps.
