Differentiate yourself by earning the professional designation of Certified Direct Marketer (CDIM), offered by the Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association (RMDMA).

The Professional Development Series consists of four courses (core areas), each offered in a flexible format in a small-classroom setting.  Direct marketing professionals who have earned the CDIM certification have seen immediate results from the instruction:

The RMDMA, offers a certificate program to train direct marketing professionals in the essentials of direct marketing as well as in the most profitable direct marketing trends and technology.  Students participating in these classes should have a general business and direct marketing background.

Upon successful completion of the four core areas, you will be eligible to sit for the certification exam administered by the RMDMA to earn the CDIM designation. If you are not interested in pursuing the certification, you are welcome to take any or all of the courses that suit your specific needs.

Program Outline

Course 1 – Principles of Direct Marketing
The course that provides a foundation for all the rest and that teaches you to think like a direct marketer. You’ll discover, in detail, the guiding principles of lists, offer and creative, and what makes direct marketing so effective.

Course 2 – Database Marketing
Learn what every direct marketer should know – but few actually do – about your customer and prospect files and their critical role in direct marketing success. From discovering sources and uses of lists and databases to applying cutting edge techniques in segmentation and modeling, you’ll discover practical applications that build profitability.

Course 3 – Interactive Marketing Fundamentals
Learn how to engage with customers online using design and direct marketing fundamentals, including the key mistakes to avoid. From website design to ecommerce, to email campaigns, search engine optimization and social media, this course will give you an in-depth understanding of best-practice strategies and tactics. It’s not a technical course for web designers — no Dreamweaver of Photoshop skills required! — but you will discover how to create email campaigns, search advertising campaigns, and viral videos.

Course 4 – Direct Marketing & Creative
Explore creative techniques that work and how using these techniques effectively can make a significant impact on your bottom line. You’ll discover how to improve results – and how to avoid critical mistakes – in direct mail, online direct marketing, and more.

Upon successful completion of these courses, covering a minimum of 60 hours of instruction, you will be eligible to sit for the certification exam to earn your CDIM.
